Leading adtech + media companies are integrating with Sincera to directly activate and control Sincera’s fleet of synthetic users, generating unique, cookieless, and privacy compliant data assets.
Using Sincera, customers build data-driven, industry-defining solutions across some of today’s most pressing issues in digital advertising: made-for-advertising detection, consent enforcement, attention-based targeting, and detection of malicious ad creative.
The seed funding round was led by NextView Ventures, who previously invested in the seed round for Triplelift, a leading Supply Side Platform that was recently purchased by Vista Partners.
“At NextView, we meet with many founders, in particular within the Ad Tech space. While Sincera’s technology is certainly powerful, the core of our investment thesis is built upon Mike and Ian’s unique combination of vision, drive, and expertise.”
Joining NextView in Sincera’s seed round are Aperiam Ventures, LiveRamp Ventures, and The Trade Desk’s TD7 venture group. As part of their investment, The Trade Desk will collaborate with Sincera on developing an industry-leading Made-for-Advertising (MFA) detection model.
Sincera is pioneering the use of metadata to make the Open Internet better. The Trade Desk is using Sincera’s product to accelerate our MFA and inventory quality controls. This not only makes the Open Internet better In terms of higher quality inventory, price discovery, and transparency, but it also helps the Open Internet perform better.
Alongside the investing syndicate are leading angel investors in adtech, including Jonah Goodhart, Ari Paparo, Auren Hoffman, and Dave Yaffe.
“For an industry with $600B+ in ad spend, a lack of controls and focus have led to challenges that must be solved in order to maintain growth of the sector. Sincera’s approach of building a technology-first platform that seamlessly integrates their data into the ecosystem is smart and ensures future-proof scale,”
“Sincera’s metadata engine is not actually designed to collect insights for today’s problems - although it does that very well - it’s designed to let you define and collect any metric you want. The product is constructed assuming that the digital advertising ecosystem will continue to grow and dramatically change.”
“We think of Sincera as the ‘Pentium’ to our customer’s first PC - using our advanced signals and tools, we allow our customers to build world class, next generation products without the overhead of vertically developing the entire offering. This way, we don’t compete with our customers - Intel doesn’t sell a PC - and we both share in the success of their products.”
In order to serve inbound customer activity, Sincera will use a portion of the seed round to grow the size of the engineering and analyst team.
Sincera Technologies was founded by Mike O’Sullivan and Ian Meyers, two established industry leaders with a deep background in the technical challenges in building complex products and services for digital advertising. Mike and Ian have a combined experience of 20 years building and supporting ad technology at leading companies such as Index Exchange, Roku, Microsoft, LiveRamp, Criteo and AppNexus.
